Intro to the Site

I love teaching Primary music (for children ages 3-11) in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The children love to learn, but as all parents and teachers know, the children can also get bored quickly. In the past year and a half I've had the privilege of learning a more purposeful approach to teaching Primary music. I've started teaching a variety of songs with a variety of activities, focused on the children's developmental levels and needs.

The basis for my ideas comes from the principles Sharla Dance teaches in her book, To Teach a Child a Song (toteachachildasong.com).  She also has a weekly blog, which describes different activities in detail (http://teachingprimarymusic.com/).

Happy Singing!
